To assist underserved communities, the Adunni Olayiwola Foundation (AOF) has donated seven manual wheelchairs to patients at Gbagada General Hospital in Lagos State.
The donation, made during an empowerment programme held at the hospital, is aimed at improving mobility and quality of life for patients in need of physical support.
Executive Director of AOF, Mr. Oluwaseun Olayiwola, said “the gesture aligns with the foundation’s mission of providing essential support to vulnerable populations across Nigeria.
“The Adunni Olayiwola Foundation was established in April 2020 to help the underserved in our communities access the necessities of life,” he said.
“I started this foundation because I couldn’t ignore the quiet strength and struggles of those who are too often left behind. Our goal is to turn compassion into action and ensure no one is forgotten.”
Since its inception, the foundation has carried out several impactful initiatives, including the construction of boreholes for residents of Molodo Village in Ife North Local Government Area and Ere Osun in Ede South Local Government Area, both in Osun State.
Other projects include COVID-19 palliatives for 25 widows in Lagos and educational support for students of Ajara Grammar School, Badagry, Lagos State.
Speaking further on the donation, Olayiwola emphasized the importance of standing in solidarity with those in need.
“When we show up for the underserved, we show the world what humanity truly looks like,” he said.
Seven patients at the hospital benefited from the latest donation. The hospital management represented by *Dr Bolarinwa* expressed appreciation for the support, noting that the wheelchairs will go a long way in enhancing patient care and mobility within the facility.
Olayiwola said AOF would continue to expand its outreach, working across healthcare, education, and community development to support individuals and communities in need.
