A non-governmental organisation, Chinwe Bode-Akinwande (CBA) Foundation has distributed food items to 100 widows in Ogun and Anambra states, respectively.
The Guardian gathered that during the outreaches in the two states, rice, tomatoes, food spices, noodles, cereal, groundnut oil, salt, drinks and others were distributed freely to all, while a widow’s child was adopted by the foundation.
Also, a free medical outreach was conducted to attend to the needs of the sick.
Speaking, the President of the CBA Foundation, Chinwe Bode-Akinwande, appreciated companies that supported the humanitarian efforts.
She also appreciated her team for their tireless contributions and sacrifices to ensure the success of the outreaches.
“Empowering the voice and position of the underprivileged widows in society through partnerships, empowerment and capacity building has been our core mandate.
“We reach out to the widows through medical outreach, skill acquisition training, food and distribution of clothes, and one-on-one counselling,” she added.
