Four persons on Tuesday sustained varying degrees of injuries when a Lexus Jeep collided with a tricycle along Sagamu/Ikorodu Highway in Ogun State.

Involved in the accident were a Blue Lexus Jeep with registration number SMK298FP and a Yellow Tricycle with the registration number JER122VC

Spokesperson of the Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps(TRACE), Babatunde Akinbiyi, confirmed this to newsmen in a statement in Abeokuta on Tuesday.

Akinbiyi stated that the cause of the crash was excessive speed on the part of the driver of the Lexus Jeep, who lost control and rammed his vehicle into the approaching tricycle.

He said that four out of the five passengers involved in the accident sustained injuries.

The TRACE spokesperson said that the victims had been taken to DASOCHRIST Hospital.

He added that the vehicles had been evacuated from the road by a towing truck.
