The spokesman of the Delta State Police Command, ASP Bright Edafe, has revealed how a suspected cultist concealed a gun and an axe in his vehicle.
Edafe on Friday, following the arrest of the suspected cultist showed how the latter hid the firearm and weapon in his car in a video the police spokesman shared on his official X account.
“The suspect who is suspected to being a member of the Aiye confraternity was stopped on the road by operatives of Eagle-net special squad and was subjected to a search,” he said.
“You need to see where they concealed the cut-to-size gun and battle Axe. We have some determined and committed officers who go all out to detect crimes and carry out their duties.”
Edafe in the video explained that the suspect hid the gun and axe in the compartment of his vehicle’s doors where nobody would have thought about.
He also quizzed the suspect who upon interrogation gave his identity as Terry Richmond and said he was arrested in Otokutu by the operatives of the Delta State Police Command.
“I work as the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of a club and I was going to have a haircut when the police operatives arrested me,” Richmond said.
“I am the owner of the cut-to-size gun that was seized by the police from me, I bought it from one Mr. Alex, who I met online. He brought the gun to me, having paid him N87,000.”
Richmond told Edafe that he bought the gun for his personal protection but he is yet to test the firearm.
When asked where the gun was recovered from, Richmond said: “From my car, precisely by the door of my car, inside the door of the car.”
On what gave him the idea to hide the gun by the door of his car, the suspect said: “Since I bought it in April 2025, that is where I have always kept it” while he said that the battle axe is also for his personal protection.
