The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, has assured Nigerians to be hopeful, saying that the gains of the economic reforms under President Bola Tinubu will begin to manifest in the near future.

The Minister gave this assurance during the inauguration of the projects he executed in his home county of Malagi, in the Gbako Local Government Area of Niger State.

The projects include an Islamiyya school, a new Jumaat mosque, electrification and water projects, as well as the inspection of the remodelled primary school in the community.

He said, “The policies of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu are designed to take Nigeria on the path to enduring prosperity, noting that all the reform programmes and initiatives of the Tinubu-led administration have been well thought out, articulated, and formulated in the interest and for the benefit of all Nigerians.

“The progressive train of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will not leave anybody behind, and we urge all Nigerians to support Mr President. Of course, we know that times are a bit challenging; nowhere in the world are reforms so easy and cheap. Reforms are very difficult for the people who are formulating them and for the people who are enduring them. But we know, ultimately, they will take us to the desired destination.

“Nigeria will definitely turn the corner, and we are already beginning to see the signs of that. Our economy is going to turn around. So, let Nigerians give Mr. President a chance, and by this time next year, 2025 will be a year of consolidation for the gains of all the economic reforms that Mr. President has instituted. By 2025, we will see them all come to fruition.”

The Minister of Information stated that the construction of the Islamiyya School and Mosque was aimed at fostering proper religious education to promote peace and unity among communities in the area.

He added that while the community had high expectations of him, plans would be executed one at a time.

Earlier, the Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, reaffirmed his commitment to rural transformation through the construction of rural access roads and the establishment of rural markets to ease the marketing of farm produce.

Bago explained that contracts for the construction of several kilometres of rural access roads had been awarded to facilitate agricultural activities and marketing.

The governor also promised to complete the Primary Healthcare Centre being constructed by the community, establish a rural market, and convert the primary school in the community to a Junior Secondary School to increase access to post-primary education in the area.

Also speaking, the Etsu Nupe and Chairman of the Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar, tasked elected politicians to contribute to the development of their immediate communities.

The people of the area appealed for the construction of a feeder road from Beji in Bosso Local Government Area to Jangara in Gbako Local Government Area of Niger State.
