Isolo LCDA set to reconstruct Emzor Way after decade of neglect

The Executive Chairman of Isolo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Olasoju Adebayo, has announced plans to commence the reconstruction of the long-neglected Emzor Way, located off Oshodi-Apapa Expressway.

The announcement was made during a meeting with senior management staff of companies operating along the road corridor .

The road, which has been in a deplorable state for nearly a decade, is scheduled for reconstruction in the second week of December 2024.

Speaking at the meeting, Olasoju emphasised the importance of collaboration among stakeholders to ensure the smooth execution of the project. He urged companies in the area to contribute their resources and expertise, stressing that their cooperation would expedite the construction process.

The council chairman assured attendees that the road would be constructed using High Performance Bedding (HPB) paving stones, similar to the durable Okota/Apple Junction road, which has withstood heavy traffic from trailers and articulated vehicles. He also revealed plans to build solid culverts at company entrances to enhance accessibility.

The Council Engineer, Gbolamiga Dawodu, affirmed the council’s commitment to delivering a high-quality road that meets state and international construction standards. He promised that the project would be completed within six months and assured stakeholders that the road would not be entirely closed during construction to minimise disruptions to businesses.

Representatives from 10 companies, including Emzor Pharmaceutical, CWAY Nigeria Limited, and Starlink Global, expressed their support for the initiative, commending the council for addressing the infrastructural challenge.

Also present at the meeting were the Supervisor for Works and Infrastructure, Jamiu Omotayo, and the Chairman of the Community Development Committee, Adesegun Olatunde.
