Residents of Ayere in Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State have received free healthcare services through a medical outreach programme organised by the National Lottery Trust Fund (NLTF).

Held on Monday, the outreach provided essential medical care to members of the rural community, including diagnostic tests, consultations, and the distribution of free medications.

Grateful residents commended the NLTF for bringing healthcare services directly to their doorsteps, especially at a time when access to quality medical care remains limited. One resident noted that the intervention enabled them to receive treatment and medicines they would otherwise be unable to afford.

Speaking during the event, the traditional ruler of Ayere, Oba Julius Olumodeji, expressed appreciation to the NLTF for what he described as a life-changing initiative. “We are grateful to the NLTF for this medical outreach. It shows genuine concern for the well-being of our people,” he said.

Representing the NLTF, Dr Fatimah Abdullahi, a medical consultant, said the outreach was part of the organisation’s broader commitment to supporting underserved communities. “We are proud to be making a positive impact in the lives of those who need it most. Our goal is to improve access to healthcare and promote national development,” she said.

The NLTF medical outreach in Ayere forms part of its ongoing efforts to address healthcare challenges in remote and vulnerable communities across Nigeria. Through such initiatives, the Fund continues to support social transformation and improve the quality of life for citizens in need.
