A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos has convicted and sentenced two men, Ajetsibo Emami and Solomon Akpomuai, to a combined 10 years imprisonment for trafficking large quantities of cannabis.
Justice Deinde Dipeolu delivered the rulings on Monday, August 18, 2025, in two separate cases brought before Court 8 of the Federal High Court.
Thirty-seven-year-old Emami, popularly known as “Warri Kinsman,” was arrested in Ikeja on June 28, 2025, following a three-day operation by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA). The operation led to the dismantling of his network and the recovery of 24 jumbo bags containing 681 pouches of Canadian Loud, weighing 414.2 kilograms.
Prosecutor Assistant Commander of Narcotics Buhari Shuaibu Abdullahi arraigned Emami on a one-count charge of dealing in illicit drugs. Justice Dipeolu convicted him and sentenced him to six years in prison, with an option of a ₦50 million fine.
In a separate case, 51-year-old Akpomuai was first arrested by Nigeria Customs Service officers along the Sagamu–Ijebu-Ode expressway on June 3, 2025, with 2,197.8 kilograms of skunk. He was handed over to the NDLEA on June 16 and subsequently arraigned on a charge of trafficking in commercial quantities.
Justice Dipeolu sentenced Akpomuai to four years in prison, also with an option of a ₦50 million fine.
Both convictions came after the court found the prosecution’s evidence sufficient to establish the offences under the NDLEA Act.
