The Lagos State Wastewater Management Office (LSWMO) has sealed EMCEL Court Phase I and Well Stock Apartments, both located on Lantana Avenue, Ikota GRA, Eti-Osa, for discharging wastewater into public drains and the environment.

The closure followed findings that the estates’ activities were creating a public nuisance, polluting the environment, and posing risks to human health.

According to the Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, who shared the update on his X handle, the actions of the estates amounted to deliberate violations of environmental regulations.

The intervention is part of the state’s ongoing efforts to curb indiscriminate wastewater disposal and enforce compliance with environmental laws.

Residents have been urged to adopt proper wastewater management and hygiene practices to protect public health and promote environmental sustainability.
