The Lagos State Environment and Security Taskforce conducted a late-night operation on October 5th, seizing the number plates of 28 vehicles parked illegally at Cubana Club on Sobo Arobiodu Road in GRA Ikeja.
This action was taken to address traffic congestion caused by inconsiderate parking. A statement released by the Lagos State Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, confirmed the operation.
The statement read, “The Lagos State Environmental/Security Task Force team today at about 0100 hrs (1 a.m) carried out a night enforcement operation, during which number plates of vehicles parked illegally in front of Cubana (Night Club) obstructing the free flow of traffic along Sobo Arobiodu Road, GRA Ikeja, were untied and confiscated accordingly.”
The statement further said that the owners of the impounded number plates would face legal consequences. “Owners of the offending vehicles will all be charged to court,” it added.
