The Lions Club International, District 404B2 Nigeria, has restated its commitment to investing in and helping society’s less privileged members.

Speaking during the District Governor’s Advisory Committee meeting, Olumide Adeyemi, the Zone 7C Chairman of District 404B2 Nigeria, said the club has a duty to support community members and encourage leadership development within the zone.

“The committee, consisting of all the presidents in my zone, comes together to review the situation in all the clubs, to identify any issues they have, and to advise the district governor accordingly.

“Currently, the common problem is that many people cannot pay their dues because of the economic situation in the country. We need to work together to address this, to support individual clubs, and to offer advice so that no club is penalised for non-payment of dues at the end of the Lions year.

“We also encourage them to recruit new members to improve their financial position. Ultimately, this will enable the clubs to better serve the community,” he said.

He further explained that the meeting aimed to help clubs and their leaders meet and promote the club’s process for achieving excellence in service delivery.

Guest speaker Olukayode Ojo, addressing the theme “Strategy for membership growth and retention towards mission 1.5”, advised club members to uphold the mission statement. He noted that creating more clubs would strengthen their ability to support the community.

He also reminded them that joining the club means dedicating time to helping people in need, sharing talents freely, and contributing financially.
