One of the loyalists of Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, Benedict Akika, who was kidnapped in his Ibadan private residence, has regained freedom.

A close family source confirmed his release this evening.

The Guardian had earlier reported how Akika’s abduction had culminated in a wild outcry for his immediate release.

Members, supporters, and followers of Omituntun Benedict Foundation (OBF) had earlier turned out in large numbers across various religious worship places, including Christian and Muslim, to seek divine intervention in Akika’s release.

According to the close family source, “it is confirmed.”
