Many escape death in Lagos multiple auto crash, body recovered from railway
Several people narrowly escaped death in a multiple-vehicle accident that occurred at Cele Bridge, inward Ijeshatedo, Lagos.
The accident involved a 40-foot container truck, a Mazda car (KSF-830JQ), and a tricycle (EKY-43QG).
The truck, which had no registration number, suffered a mechanical failure while ascending the bridge, causing it to roll backwards and partially crush the vehicles behind it.
According to the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), no lives were lost, though the truck driver sustained injuries. Two of the three vehicles were severely damaged, causing major traffic disruptions.
LASEMA, in collaboration with LASTMA and the Nigeria Police, responded swiftly, diverting oncoming traffic.
In a separate incident, LASEMA recovered the body of an adult male found on a railway track.
The man was reportedly hit by a moving train earlier that morning.
The body was handed over to the State Environmental Health Monitoring Unit (SEHMU) and taken to the morgue for further investigation.
