The Nasarawa State Police Command said it arrested a woman for child theft at a baby’s birthday party in Keffi Local Government.

This was made known in a press statement by the Nasarawa State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ranham Nansel, on Sunday in Lafia.

The police reported that at about 6:30 PM on Saturday, officers attached to the Keffi Division arrested a woman, Khadija Aliyu, for stealing a seven-day-old baby girl during a naming ceremony in Keffi.

The suspect has confessed to committing the crime.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Umar Shehu Nadada, has called on members of the public to keep a watchful eye over infant babies during birthdays and other children’s ceremonies.
