Troops of the Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI, have recorded a series of operational breakthroughs across Borno State and surrounding areas, including the rescue of abducted civilians, arrests of suspected terrorist collaborators, and recovery of weapons in ongoing counter-insurgency operations.
In one of the latest operations along the Ngoshe–Amuda axis in Gwoza Local Government Area, soldiers rescued four abducted civilians — two women and two children — who were reportedly taken during an earlier attack on the Ngoshe community in March 2026. The victims have since been reunited with their families after medical evaluation and debriefing.
Military authorities said the rescue is part of sustained pressure on terrorist enclaves in the Mandara Mountains, which has also contributed to the liberation of dozens of captives in recent weeks.
In a separate operation in Kukawa Local Government Area, troops arrested a 50-year-old woman suspected of acting as a logistics courier for insurgents, with items believed to be destined for terrorist networks in the Dumba axis. Another suspect was also apprehended along the Dalori corridor while allegedly transporting supplies linked to insurgent activities.
Further arrests were made in Kwaya Kusar, where troops working with local security support groups intercepted four suspected cattle rustlers and alleged collaborators in possession of stolen livestock.
The military also confirmed the surrender of more individuals with alleged links to insurgent groups, including family members who reportedly fled from terrorist hideouts due to sustained military pressure and worsening conditions within the camps.
Recovered items from various operations include an AK-47 rifle, a loaded magazine, suspected illicit substances, cash, and other logistics materials used in sustaining insurgent activities.
According to military authorities, a total of 65 abducted persons have so far been rescued under ongoing operations, while efforts continue to track remaining victims and dismantle terrorist networks across the theatre.
The military high command described the sustained operations as part of a broader effort to restore stability, disrupt insurgent supply chains, and strengthen security across the North-East region, while commending troops for their continued operational successes.
