Operatives of the Owode-Egba Division of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested a 31-year-old suspect, Samuel Adetunji for allegedly stealing a commercial tricycle.

The suspect was arrested on August 4, 2026.

Spokesperson of the Command, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi confirmed this to newsmen in a statement in Abeokuta yesterday.

Babaseyi said the suspect absconded with the tricycle after the owner entrusted the vehicle to him.

He noted that the stolen tricycle was later recovered at Rounda, Abeokuta

“The suspect will be charged to court upon conclusion of investigation” he said.

On the same day,(August 4, 2026) the operatives recovered an abandoned white Toyota Hilux along Alapako–Ogunmakin Road.

Babaseyi said that the owner subsequently confirmed that the vehicle had been stolen from his residence four days ago.

In a related development, Operatives of the Sagamu Division of the Ogun State Police Command have recovered an abandoned red Bajaj motorcycle near a mechanic workshop at Trailer Park, Kara, Sabo Sagamu.

The Police Spokesperson said that the motorcycle was recovered on August 5, 2026 following the operatives vigilance and operational alertness.

“The motorcycle has been secured, while investigation is ongoing to identify and locate the rightful owner and establish the circumstances surrounding its abandonment.” he added.
