Operatives of the Amotekun Corps in Ondo State have revealed that they arraigned 175 suspects out of the 750 that were profiled in the first quarter of 2025.
This was made known by the Corps Commander, Adetunji Adeleye, who on Wednesday further reeled out the statistics of the formation in the first quarter of the year.
The Amotekun Corps also paraded another 31 crime suspects whom its operatives arrested in the last two weeks across the 18 local government areas (LGAs) of Ondo State.
According to Adeleye, the feat achieved through joint operations by security agencies in the state has reduced the number of kidnap cases and attacks on farmers by armed herdsmen in farmsteads.
“Besides the 175 suspects arraigned, others are still undergoing different stages of investigation,” the commander stated.
“Among the fresh 31 crime suspects being paraded, 13 among them were allegedly linked to the series of kidnap incidents that had taken place in the state in recent times.”
Adeleye also called on the residents of Ondo State to be wary of scavengers who are working as spies for gunmen, bandits, and kidnappers.
