The 42nd President of Rotaract Club of FESTAC Town, Uzodimma Otaluka, has said that his plan for the club is to make sure that the club never dies. “Because if the club had died, I would not be here celebrating being its 42nd president. I want the club to keep striving.”
Speaking during his investiture in Lagos, he described the club as the no one community-based club in Nigeria. “Today is important because I am being celebrated as the 42nd President of the Rotaract Club of FESTAC Town, which is the no one community-based club in Nigeria. It is really an honour for me.”
He said that his projects for the club which would cost him N2 million include empowering people in vocational skills, maternal/ child health care and equipping those in the prison and orphanage homes with educational materials.
He regretted that as a community -based club, Rotaract was actually facing the problem of membership.
“I am expecting support from our Rotarians and sponsors that will help us to achieve a greater and bigger Rotaract Club that we are,” he said.
