Police operatives attached to the Tactical Squad and the Eko Strike Force have arrested eight suspects, including a woman, in connection with cult-related killings at Yaba College of Technology (Yabatech) and its environs.
The suspects include Adeyemo Abdulsamad, 24, also known as “Cloud”; Afeez Enitan, 28; Ayomide Daniel, 30; Olamilekan Adeagbo, 26, also known as “Skinny”; Mayor Samson, 28; Basit Ishola, 20; Quadri Sikiru, 26; and Mariam Salihu, 23.
Confirming the arrests, the spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, revealed that the operation followed intelligence on the suspects’ hideout. Recovered items included arms, ammunition, membership certificates, and award plaques associated with the cult group.
“Tactical operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested eight suspects involved in several cult-related killings within Yaba College of Technology and its environs. The intelligence-led operation took place on April 29, 2025,” Hundeyin stated.
He disclosed that items recovered during the operation included one Beretta pistol, four 9mm rounds of ammunition, one cartridge, two battle axes, and two cutlasses. Investigations are ongoing to determine the extent of each suspect’s involvement in the killings.
The Commissioner of Police, Olohundare Jimoh, commended the swift response and efficiency of the Tactical Squad and Eko Strike Force. He urged residents to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious activities to the police.
Jimoh reiterated the command’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all residents and visitors in Lagos State. “The suspects will face the full wrath of the law,” he assured.
