Six Suspects: Raphael Ashim, 30; Wasiu Kareem, 33; Ibrahim Oladimeji, 22; Sadiq Olabisi, 40; Olamilekan Oluwatosin, 27; and Olalekan Olugbodi, 54, have been arrested over the alleged murder of 30-year-old Kamoru, also known as Keeper.
Spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin, said detectives from the Command’s Anti-Kidnapping Unit in Surulere carried out an intelligence-led operation on July 17, 2025, in the Ebute Meta area, leading to the arrests. The suspects were allegedly involved in a cult clash in Ebute Meta and its environs that resulted in Kamoru’s death.
Hundeyin said efforts were ongoing to apprehend other members of the group and recover their operational tools. On July 12, 2025, police operatives arrested 26-year-old ex-convict Bello Aminu, who was found in possession of an unregistered Toyota Camry suspected to have been snatched from a victim. The Command said the suspect confessed to the offence during the investigation.
The police also recovered a Lexus hybrid jeep, 2021 model, valued at over N75 million, which was allegedly about to be sold for N60 million without valid documents. The vehicle was suspected to have been stolen or snatched from another country.
In another incident, a Suzuki minibus used for “one-chance” robbery in Lagos was recovered, and five suspects were arrested. Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Jimoh Olohundare, commended the officers involved in the arrests and urged residents to report suspicious activities to the police.
“It is also pertinent to loudly underscore the continuous logistics and day-to-day operational supports provided for the Lagos State Police Command by the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwoolu, That have made the job of securing Lagos State much more easier and have further reduced our response time to distress calls to around five minutes,” he said.
