Nasarawa State Police Command has apprehended two suspects in connection with the abduction and murder of a businesswoman, Felicia Namkywa.

According to a statement released yesterday by Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ramhan Nansel, Abubakar Ibrahim and Isah Ayuba of Shember village in Agwatashi, Obi Local Council, were arrested following a prolonged investigation.

The arrests followed a complaint at Obi Divisional Police Headquarters reporting Ms Namkywa’s disappearance.

Preliminary investigations revealed that Ibrahim, who owed the victim N40,000, lured her with the promise of a grain purchase at a Fulani settlement.

“Unknown to her, there was a sinister plan to take her life and dispossess her of her business capital,” stated Nansel”.

Under interrogation, the suspects confessed to luring and abducting Miss Namkywa, taking her deep into a forest where they strangled her and dumped her body in a swamp. They also stole N550, which was found in her person.

The suspects subsequently led police to the scene where the victim’s remains were recovered.
