A man reported at the station that on July 31, some thieves came to the estate, vandalised vehicles and carted away brain boxes and other parts.
The command’s spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, said that, based on the strength of the complaint, detectives acted to apprehend the perpetrators on August 3.
According to him, the detectives at Ilewe Junction, Ikotun, Lagos, arrested Jefferson Emeka Joshua on August 10. Donatus Okoro was traced to Idowu Street Ajegunle, where he was arrested.
Hundeyin said both suspects confessed to the crime and that their operational vehicle, a red Toyota Camry with registration number Lagos FKL 260 JJ, one police beret, and one handcuff were recovered.
“Efforts are being intensified to arrest other syndicate members,” he said.
Calling for a stronger community-police relationship, the Commissioner of Police, Fayoade Adegoke, said: “Our relationship with members of the public will remain cordial, and we shall continue to respond to incidents promptly. We shall be more visible and accessible and dominate all the nooks and crannies of the state.”
