Operatives of the Nigerian Customs Service (NCS) have intercepted an unregistered Toyota Carina E carrying 201 rounds of expanded ammunition concealed inside iron scraps along the Kangiwa-Makera Road in Kebbi State.
The interception, which occurred at about 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, led to the arrest of two suspects, Anas Umar and Abbas Ahmed, both from Zauro Town in Birnin Kebbi Local Government Area.
A team from the Birnin Kebbi Area Command of the Nigeria Police Force was mobilized to the scene, and the suspects, along with the recovered exhibits, were taken to the Area Command office for further investigation.
Upon interrogation, the suspects confessed that they had purchased the iron scraps from Dosso Town in Niger Republic and had already sold part of them to one Suga, a resident of Gwadangaji Town in Birnin Kebbi LGA.
