Rotary Club of Lekki Phase 1 installs Elusakin as president

Members of Rotary Club of Lekki Phase 1, families and friends of Rotarian Sina Elusakin gathered recently to witness Elusakin’s installation as the club’s 18th president.
 
The event hall, adorned in Rotary colours of blue and gold, was filled with dignitaries that included the Asiwaju of Ife, Chief Alex Duduyemi, who was the father of the day; Mrs. Salome Ekpo, mother of the day, and the District Governor, 2023/2024, Rotary District 9110, Mrs. Ifeyinwa Ejezie.
 
In his valedictory speech, the outgone president, Rotarian Mike Jaga, highlighted some successful initiatives under his watch to include donation of Transcranial Doppler (TCD) machines to the Sickle Cell Foundation in partnership with the Association of Nigerian Physicians in the Americas and the Covenant Medical Group Global Foundation, among others.  

In his acceptance speech, Elusakin stated that the club’s priorities in the 2024/2025 Rotary year are in line with the club’s action plan.
 
Promising impactful projects, he said: “We will make deliberate effort in creating meaningful relationships as we use every available opportunity to show people what Rotary can do for them as individuals and members of our communities.”
 
Elusakin announced the club’s plan to raise N50 million to execute various projects within the communities. 
 
He listed some of the projects to include: provision of solar-powered electricity to the computer laboratory in Gbara Community Senior Secondary School; donation of 10 neonatal resuscitators to 10 Primary Health Centres in Lagos; funding of skill acquisition and training for people with disabilities; health/medical outreach to Ogombo, Maiyegun and Ikate communities.
