Sen. Ngwu hails Governor Mbah for infrastructure development in Enugu

Senator Osita Ngwu, representing Enugu West senatorial district, has commended Governor Peter Mbah for his outstanding efforts in advancing Enugu State through strategic infrastructure projects.

During a visit to Abakpa Nike in Enugu metropolis, Ngwu lauded the governor’s commitment to improving the lives of residents, following the inauguration of four newly constructed and reconstructed roads in the area.

On Monday, Governor Mbah inaugurated Mike Ejeagha Crescent, a road named in honour of the legendary music icon who resides there, along with the adjoining Obinagu Road, which was renamed after him. Other roads inaugurated include the Texaco Bus Stop-Ifo Road and Nkpor Street.

Senator Ngwu, who is also the Senate Minority Whip, praised the governor’s strategic vision, stating that the recent road inaugurations are only the beginning of a larger transformation agenda for the state.

He highlighted the governor’s recognition of cultural heritage, noting that renaming Obinagu Road to Mike Ejeagha Road reflects Enugu’s deep respect for its cultural icons.

“Infrastructure is crucial to driving development and instilling pride in our people. Enugu is rich in history, talent, and culture, and it is our responsibility to celebrate those who have shaped our identity,” Ngwu said.

The senator also reassured residents that Governor Mbah’s administration has awarded contracts for 141 roads and 20 rural roads, with Abakpa included in the forthcoming projects.
