A 20-year-old boy, Oyeme Eguari, has reportedly been shot dead by suspected members of the Vikings Confraternity in Abbi, Ndokwa West Local Government Area of Delta State.

The Guardian learned that the incident occurred on New Year’s Eve during the crossover night, dampening the New Year celebrations in the community.

According to community sources, the deceased was shot at a beer parlour located near Ejakita Street, Abbi town.

“A young boy was having fun with his friends, drinking at a beer parlour located on Ejakita Street, Abbi town, in Ndokwa West LGA, Delta State,” a source said.

“He was shot with a gun by a group of cultists who are members of the Supreme Vikings Confraternity (SVC) in Abbi town.

“This particular violent secret cult group has masterminded many violent crimes, including armed robbery, murder, attempted murder, illicit drug trafficking, and grievous harm in the community.

“Please, we are using this medium to seek the intervention of the Delta State government to stop incessant killings in Abbi town.”

They also called on human rights activists to assist the police in stopping the killing of innocent people in Abbi town.

When contacted, the police spokesperson, Bright Edafe, confirmed the incident.
