Sytiamo provides free medical service to 100 traders in Egbeda

Over 100 market women in Egbeda have benefited from a free medical outreach organised by Sytiamo Technology Limited in partnership with the Lagos State Ministry of Health.

The initiative, held within the Egbeda Market community, provided comprehensive health services including blood pressure checks, blood sugar testing, Body Mass Index (BMI) assessments, and general medical consultations. Free medications were also distributed to beneficiaries, ensuring immediate treatment where necessary.

The organisers said the outreach was designed to address the often-overlooked health needs of grassroots women, many of whom rarely have the time or resources to seek proper medical care due to the demands of daily trading.

Speaking during the programme, Managing Director of Sytiamo Technology Limited, Micheal Ogbaa emphasised that true empowerment goes beyond financial support.

He noted that a healthy woman is better positioned to manage her business, care for her family, and contribute productively to society.

He stressed that in the bustling market environment, where daily survival often takes precedence over personal wellbeing, the outreach created an opportunity for women to pause and prioritise their health.

Ogbaa stated that the initiative forms part of Sytiamo Technology Limited’s broader commitment to empowering women at the grassroots level, not only economically, but also socially and health-wise. It reflects a growing trend among socially responsible organisations to measure success by community impact as well as profit.

The success of the programme, Ogbaa noted, was driven by a coordinated team effort spanning planning, partnerships, execution, and community engagement, reflecting a deep understanding of grassroots realities.

The outreach also underscores the importance of collaboration between the public and private sectors in improving access to healthcare. The involvement of the Lagos State Ministry of Health highlights the role of strategic partnerships in delivering impactful services to underserved populations.

For many of the beneficiaries, the intervention was both timely and significant. Some described it as their first medical check-up in years, while others said it provided critical early detection that could help prevent more serious health complications
