The ghost of the disbanded Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) of the Nigeria Police Force resurfaced in Ikorodu over the weekend, according to the founder of RendBit, Mr Charles Mbaogu, who alleged that he was subjected to harassment by police officers.
Mbaogu, a serving member of the National Youth Service Corps, said that on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at about 10:00 a.m., he and his girlfriend were travelling from Ikeja to Epe when they were stopped by officers from Ladegboye Police Station along Ijede Road in Ikorodu.
He said one of the officers requested his vehicle documents and driver’s licence, which he provided along with his first aid box. After confirming that the documents were complete, the officer allegedly began asking personal questions about his tribe, state of origin, where he was coming from and what he was doing in Lagos.
