Why we changed our daughter’s wedding venue — Ado Bayero’s family
The Ado Bayero family has said the tax reform bills have nothing to do with moving the venue of the wedding of their daughter, Maryam Nasir Ado Bayero, to Jibrin (Abba) Barau, the son of the Deputy President of the Senate.
Reports had claimed that the wedding was relocated from Kano to Abuja due to tensions surrounding the tax reform bills. However, this was debunked in a statement signed by the Chairman of the organising committee of the bride’s family, Alhaji Aminu Babba Dan Agundi.
He said the decision to change the location of the wedding from Kano to Abuja was purely and solely the decision of their family and not that of their daughter’s would-be husband’s family – the Deputy President of the Senate.
He noted that based on tradition, the responsibility of picking the venue or location of the wedding rests on the shoulders of the bride’s family.
He said the wedding venue, slated for Friday, December 13, 2024, was relocated from Kano to Abuja weeks ago to make it convenient for personalities who have indicated interest in attending the wedding from across the country and abroad.
He urged all those linking the change of the location of the wedding with the tax reform bills issue to desist forthwith.
