Concentrate on ecological areas in Kebbi, Bagudu tells HYPPADEC commission
Kebbi State Governor, Atiku Bagudu Abubakar, has called on the governing council of Hydroelectric Power Producing Area Development Commission (HYPPADEC) to concentrate on ecological areas in the state.
He made the call yesterday, when he received members of the governing council in Birnin Kebbi.
Bagudu noted that the commission was established to support people living near dams and also reduce the sufferings of people in rural areas.
The governor, who was represented by the Deputy Governor, Ismail Yombe Dabai, said the state needs serious support in rehabilitation of roads, provision of portable drinking water and aids for victims of floods.
Responding, leader of the team and Chairman, HYPPADEC, Joseph Terfa Ityav, said they are in the state to support the people affected by floods.
He assured that they would support communities using the commission’s blueprint.
