Court restrains anti-graft agency from further probing Sanusi
A Kano High Court has ordered the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission from further investigating alleged misappropriation of N3.4bn leveled against Emir Muhammad Sanusi II.
Ruling on the case yesterday, Justice Suleiman Baba-Na’malam granted the leave filed by Sanusi for a review of application to quash the agency’s preliminary report.
Sanusi had filed an ex parte motion for judicial review before the court seeking suspension of the commission’s report, which had indicted him for misappropriating N3.4b, pending the hearing of the motion on notice.
Na’malam directed the respondent and its agents to stay action on its investigation into the finances of Kano Emirate Council under Sanusi and adjourned sitting to March 10, 2020 for further hearing of the application.
