Foundation to give succour to 4000


The Pistis Foundation, a social entrerprise of the Elevation Church (TEC), in partnership with the Lagos State Ministry of Health among others is set to reach out to 4,000 people in its weeklong health and surgical outreach slated for 18th to 22nd March at the church’s annex at Lekki, Lagos.

The event tagged ‘Ubomi’, (life) promises to cater for over 100 surgical cases during and after the outreach through its other partners, Pro-Health International, St Kizito and Amethyst Hospitals, and the Paediatric Care Clinic.

Chairman, Board of Trustees of the Foundation, Godman Akinlabi, at a press conference in Lagos stated that over 200 healthcare professionals including doctors, nurses, and pharmacists from across the country would be volunteering for the programme. He noted that the Lagos State Ministry of Health has also screened licenses of all medical personnel involved and would provide ambulances for the exercise.

Chief Operating Officer of the Foundation, Tunji Iyiola, bemoaned the gap existence in health care delivery in the country stating that with the over 20 million populace in Lagos, the state only has about 26 general hospitals and 371 functional private health care centres. He explained that the platform would also be used to gather and analyse data on the most prevalent ailment, and focus on those going forward.
