A COMMUNITY-BASED non-governmental organisation, Ladies Helpline Initiative, in collaboration with African Entrepreneurship and Mentorship Support, has empowered female chief executive officers and entrepreneurs with grant accessibility opportunities.

The Convener, Mrs. Hannah Agunkejoye, who spoke at a training programme held at the Lagos State Chamber of Commerce & Industries and had in attendance women from different sectors and industries, said funding had been a major challenge for most female entrepreneurs.

She said her NGO decided to bridge the gap by sharing knowledge and timely solutions to position women to access fund. Also, a co-partner of the programme, Julie Obi, said that the training was organised to empower women to have access to a wide range of resources on grants for women.

Similarly, a facilitator at the programme, Alero Thompson, emphasised the need for women to work together as a team to promote effective collaboration with accessibility to funding. She said: “Women should avoid pitfalls to grant accessibility and be consistent in their applications.”
