Pioneer female Kano CJ pledges effective justice system
The new Chief Judge (CJ) of Kano State, Justice Dije Abdu Aboki, has pledged to enhance effective justice system in the state.
Aboki, who made the pledge while taking oath to serve as the substantive CJ of Kano, in Government House, yesterday, is the first female CJ in the state.
Equally pledging justice to all, Aboki attributed the cordial relationship between the three arms of government to the quality leadership of the state governor, just as she expressed optimism that the relationship would continue to wax stronger.
She maintained that the judiciary under his watch would not compromise the independence of each arm of government, even amid cordial relationships.
After the oath-taking, Governor Abba Yusuf informed the gathering that the CJ was considered based on her proven track record and diligence in dispensing justice.
The governor reminded the CJ that the new responsibility entrusted to her should be taken with all honesty and trust.
He urged the new CJ to commence the process of reforming the state’s judiciary against the perceived miscarriages of justice, as well as alleged unjust and misjudged cases against the bench.
He assured her of his administration’s commitment to its obligations to the judiciary and complete all abandoned projects, including new court complexes, recovery of court properties that were hitherto sold and prioritising the welfare of judicial officers.
