The Police in Delta State have paraded 46-year-old proprietor of the Great Leader International School, Agbor, Innocent Ezeukwu, for allegedly defiling a four-year-old child.
Spokesperson for the command, Bright Edafe, paraded the suspect along with one Nnajiofor Nweke, ‘m’, who reportedly killed a teacher, and three other suspected criminals.
Edafe said the defilement incident occurred on October 5, at about 5:00a.m.
According to him, one Mrs. Joy Chukwudi reported that as she was about bathing her four-year-old daughter, she discovered bloodstain in her private part.
Edafe said when the minor was questioned, she kept stating that “her uncle at the school used scissors to cut her vagina.”
He added: “Following the receipt of this complaint, the Area Commander Agbor detailed a team of investigators to proceed to the scene of the alleged crime where the suspect, Ezeukwu, who doubles as the owner of the school, and also the only male teacher in the school was arrested and taken into custody.
“Preliminary investigation led to the issuance of a medical report, and the initiation of an identification exercise where the suspect, when placed among random men, was identified by the victim as the person who allegedly defiled her.
“The medical report affirmed that there was ‘no hymen visualised’ in the victim’s private part, though the Area Command Agbor had concluded their investigations.
“However, the suspect denied the allegations, claiming that he was framed in the matter.”
The hymen is a thin piece of mucosal tissue that surrounds or partially covers the vaginal opening.
On the murder case, Edafe said on October 18, at about 9:00p.m., one Nnajiofor Nweke, ‘m’, father to one Emmanuel Nweke, went to Alihame Mixed Secondary School, Agbor, where his child schools.
According to him, the suspect went to the school premises aggressively in search of one of the teachers in the school over a punishment meted out to his son.
“The suspect on sighting the said teacher picked a cane in the school and started flogging him during which another teacher, one Ufah Sunday, while trying to mediate and stop him, slumped and was rushed to central hospital where he was confirmed dead by the doctor,” Edafe said.
