The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) Chairman, Professor Abdullahi Saleh Usman, has travelled to Saudi Arabia with a delegation of commissioners and other key officials to finalise service agreements for the 2026 Hajj.
The trip, which began on Monday, aligns with the operational calendar set by the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.
The visit is crucial for securing essential services like transportation and accommodation.
The Saudi ministry has set a strict deadline of September 24, 2025, for the completion of these contracts. The trip also aims to finalise arrangements for Mashair, the camps where pilgrims stay during the Hajj rites, with an earlier deadline of September 23, 2025, for contracting and payment.
These swift actions are in preparation for the upcoming deadline on October 12, 2025, when Nigerian pilgrims’ data must be submitted through the official Nusuk platform.
NAHCON set an earlier internal deadline of October 8, 2025, for all states and licensed Hajj operators to remit their pilgrims’ fares.
NAHCON has urged all stakeholders to adhere to these timelines to ensure a seamless pilgrimage for Nigerian pilgrims.
