Students of the University of Ibadan will today and tomorrow debate the need for national reconstruction at this year’s edition of the oratory competition—Superbowl.

The theme of this year’s edition is ‘The Re-construction of the Nigerian Nation; and UI@ 70: Sustaining the Legacy, Raising the Bar,” and it is designed to address issues bordering on the nation’s polity, which has been described as lacking positive engagement and inspiring public debates.

The goal of the preliminaries and finals is to elevate the status and practice of social discourse in Nigeria and provide innovative solutions to salient global issues.

Being the biggest oratory competition at the University of Ibadan, SuperBowl finds the best and the brightest of Nigeria’s young thinkers, gives them topical and socially relevant issues; and then provides them with a stage, upon which to share the results of their brainstorming and research.
