Some K-POP fans in Nigeria have emerged winners of the maiden LG Electronics K-POP competition, winning N12m to promote creativity, talent and technological excellence.
‘Mamus’ of Port Harcourt won first place in the vocal category, while the dance category was won by the group ‘Limitless Supreme 6’ from Port Harcourt too.
The finalists in the dance category included ‘Femmeforce’ from Lagos for the first runner up, and ‘Movematics’ from Lagos emerged second runner up. In the vocal category, ‘Kcee’ from Port Harcourt emerged the first runner, while ‘Shammah’ from Port Harcourt clinched the second runner up.
The first runner up received N2m, while the second runner up received N1m, among other gifts from the brand. The total price awarded to the winners was N12m, N3m each for placing winners in the singing and dance categories, while the first and second runners-up in each category received N2m and N1m respectively.
The Managing Director, LG Electronics, Mr. Hyoung Sub Ji, said the event is a celebration of not only incredibly talented K-POP enthusiasts, but also the rich tapestry of global culture.
He said the brand remains committed to supporting the K-POP culture and nurturing the talents of tomorrow, most especially its ability to bring to life the bond between Korea and Nigeria.
In his remark, the Head of Corporate Marketing, Mr. Hari Elluru, appreciated the youth and Gen Zs for making the event a grand success, as well as the tremendous interest shown by all the participants in the K-POP contest.
