NIPOST trains Edo courier service providers
Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST) on Monday in Benin City, Edo State trained new courier and logistics service providers, to improve service delivery.
Speaking at a lecture with the topic, “Ethical Considerations in Courier and Logistic Industry in Nigeria” delivered as part of the induction ceremony, the Director Nigerian Postal Institute, Egor, Edo State, Dr. Julius Bolade Aijorin, said the Courier Service and Logistics Licence Regulation Department was formed in 2001 to serve as licensing and regulatory body to the courier industry operators in Nigeria, and advised players in the industry to relate with NIPOST for effective service.
He said NIPOST operation in the industry is backed with the NIPOST Act 2004, which gives the organisation the right to licence, regulate and monitor the courier industry in Nigeria.
Earlier, the General Manager, Courier and Regulatory Department, Mr. Dotun Sholade, said courier service involves speed and timing, and advised those involved not to overlook time consciousness.
