NIS dissociates self from fake recruitment site

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has dissociated itself from a fake NIS recruitment advertisement on an online portal where unsuspecting job seekers are being duped.

The Comptroller General of the NIS, Muhammed Babandede stated this in a communique issued by the Public Relations Officer of the service, Sunday James, in Abuja.

Worried by the constant attempt by fraudsters taking advantage of the public, Babandede said the agency’s recruitment exercise is always advertised on reputable national dailies, televisions and the NIS website and the exercise is always free of charge and successful candidates are contacted through verifiable and credible platforms.

Babandede, therefore, advised the public “against paying money in whatever form to anybody or organisation, as the NIS recruitment is free and the agency will never demand for money for the exercise.

“All should also desist from patronizing those websites and to report any suspected case to us and other anti-corruption agencies,” he said.
