NLC dismisses strike circular in Yobe as fake
The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) in Yobe State has dismissed a circulating social media post calling for a statewide strike as false and misleading.
In a statement released on Saturday, NLC State Chairman, Muktar Tarbutu, clarified that negotiations on the new minimum wage have concluded and the report has been submitted to Governor Mai Mala Buni for approval.
Tarbutu urged civil servants to disregard the fake circular and continue their normal duties.

The statement read: “You may recall that the joint committee between the government and NLC has finalised negotiations on the New Minimum Wage, and the report has already been forwarded to His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Yobe State, Honourable Mai Mala Buni CON, for his consideration and approval.
“Therefore, through this notice, NLC Yobe State Council urges all Yobe State civil servants to disregard the purported circular and continue with their normal duties and activities.”
The NLC reaffirmed its commitment to protecting the rights and welfare of Yobe State workers.
“The Yobe State NLC remains steadfast in its commitment to championing and safeguarding the rights and interests of Yobe State workers,” the statement added.
