The NNPC Gas & Power Investment Services (NGPIS) has been awarded the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) 9001:2015 Quality Management System (QMS) Certification by the British Standards Institution (BSI), in recognition of its commitment to operational excellence, quality service delivery and sustainable business performance.

The development was disclosed in a statement published on the official X handle of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.) on Friday.

According to the statement, the Head of Planning and Commercial at NGPIS, Ayuba Rabo, led a delegation from the company to formally present the ISO 9001:2015 certificate to the Executive Vice President, Gas, Power and New Energy, Olalekan Ogunleye, at his office in the NNPC Towers, Abuja, on Wednesday.

The certification marks the successful completion of a quality management implementation process that began in December 2024. The process involved the establishment of a comprehensive quality management system, process standardisation, as well as a series of internal and external audits to ensure compliance with the requirements of the ISO 9001:2015 standard.

The statement credited the achievement to the efforts of the NGPIS Quality Management System team, coordinated by Okeoghene Esugo, whose leadership, coordination and commitment were described as instrumental in securing the internationally recognised certification.

NNPC Ltd. noted that the certification affirms that NGPIS now operates a quality management system that aligns with globally accepted best practices, strengthening its institutional framework for operational efficiency and continuous improvement.

The company added that the certification is expected to enhance NGPIS’ competitiveness within the energy industry by improving service delivery, increasing customer satisfaction and reinforcing confidence in its operational processes.
