NNPC/Chevron donate mining equipment worth $1.284 million to AMAPOB in Benue
In its bid to further boost the federal government’s aspiration in Nigerian Content Development (NCD), Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and Chevron Nigerian Limited (CNL) have donated mining equipment worth $1.284 million to the Benue State Association of Miners and Producers of Birate (AMAPOB).
Speaking at the handover ceremony at the association’s secretariat in Yandev-Gboko Council on Thursday, the General Manager of NCD, Mr. Olusoga Oduselu, said the efforts was aimed at increasing in-country capability and provide strategic framework to boost the content component of goods and services needed to support capital projects in Nigeria.
Oduselu disclosed that the intervention equally involves the provision of enhanced training for AMAPOB members, noting that their interest in the NCD was not just as a law, but to encourage the participation of Nigerian companies in the oil and gas industry through the deliberate creation of opportunities for Nigerian service providers and suppliers.
