Lagos State Police Command, yesterday, denied the report that the state is on partial lockdown.

A report has claimed that the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alabi, on Wednesday said that there was a partial lockdown of the state by security agencies due to attack threats by unknown gunmen.

The report stated that the CP disclosed this in Lagos during the Lagos State Stakeholders’ Forum on Police Accountability quarterly meeting and awards.

But responding, the Command’s spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, said the Commissioner only affirmed that entry and exit points are being closely monitored by security agencies to forestall any security breach in the state.

“He gave this assurance while answering a question bordering on police’s stop-and-search in parts of the state. No part of Lagos is on lockdown, partial or total.

“All residents of Lagos State are enjoined to go about their lawful duties without fear; while remaining vigilant and observing situational awareness at all times,” he added.
