Nordica marks 20th anniversary, celebrates children born through IVF

Managing Director/CEO, Nordica Fertility Centre, Dr. Abayomi Ajayi and Clinic Manager, Mrs Tola Ajayi with some of the children hosted at Hakuna Matata Theme Park in commemoration of Nordica’s 20th Anniversary in Lagos yesterday.
One of Africa’s leading fertility centres, Nordica Fertility Centre, has celebrated over 5,000 children to mark its milestone in assisted reproductive service since its establishment 20 years ago.
Nordica, which commenced operation in 2003, had seen successful conception and delivery of twins, quadruplets and quintuplets, despite challenges encountered in the fertility journey.
At an event in Lagos yesterday, the clinic hosted over 200 children who were treated to delightful entertainment, while parents gave testimonies about their journey through In-Vitro Fertilisation (IVF).
A father of twins, Mr. Agboola Lateef Olaitan, said that he got married in 2002, but all attempts to conceive were unsuccessful until his brother-in-law introduced him to Nordica, where they went through IVF at one trial and had twins in 2011.
Also, Mrs. Vivian Osunkwo, a proud mother of four children born through IVF, said the IVF journey at Nordica was top-notch.
Pastor Prince and Caro, who had a baby boy last year, said they tried for 11 years to conceive naturally without success, but the second IVF process at Nordica resulted in the birth of their child.
Meanwhile, Managing Director of Nordica Fertility Centre, Dr. Abayomi Ajayi, said the clinic had recorded over 5,000 children conceived and delivered through IVF in 20 years of its operation and still counting.
According to him, the clinic was set up to provide efficient and quality fertility services better than those provided abroad.
Similarly, Tola Ajayi, Clinic Manager at the Centre, added that the clinic’s success would not have been possible without the co-operation and acceptance of IVF among couples in Nigeria.
On her part, Mrs. Olayinka Adesanya, who represented Chairman of Board of Directors, Adetokunbo Adesanya, said it had been a wonderful journey looking at the success the clinic has achieved in assisted reproduction.
