Northern youths pledge support for Progressives Peoples Alliance
Some youths of northern extraction based in Anambra have declared support for candidate of the Progressives Peoples Alliance (PPA), Chief Godwin Ezeemo, in the November 18 governorship election in the state.
Spokesman for the youths, Habib Usman Katsina, described Ezeemo as a man of integrity. He said the youths believed in his ideology, urging all young people to vote for him en masse. He promised also that the decision would never be regretted.
Katsina, who spoke yesterday at the party secretariat in Awka, added that Ezeemo was honest, generous and accommodating, a leader with the large heart needed to move Anambra to the next level.
According to Katsina, the aspirant had assisted more than 2000 youths in the state and had genuine plans. “If he becomes governor, he would do even more. This is a man who has several investments abroad but decided to bring them down to his state, to assist its development,” he noted.
Earlier in a speech, Ezeemo said Anambra belonged to youths because they had a greater stake in the state. He unveiled an eight-point contract with the youths, saying he had always carried them along. This, according to him, influenced his choice of a youth as running mate.
He promised that elected, he would ensure constant supply of electricity, encourage investors and revive moribund industries.
