The Alaafin of Oyo, Abimbola Akeem Owoade I, has described former President Olusegun Obasanjo as a remarkable leader and living legend whose vision continues to shape Nigeria’s future.

In a congratulatory message issued to mark Obasanjo’s 89th birthday, the monarch said the former Nigerian leader remains a titan of his time whose integrity, courage and dedication to national service have left an enduring legacy.

“Your Excellency, today we celebrate not just a leader but a pillar of strength. Your calm demeanour, wisdom and selfless commitment to peace and unity have made an indelible mark on our national history,” he said.

The monarch added that Obasanjo’s leadership has helped bridge divides and foster progress, thereby shaping a better future for generations of Nigerians.

He further described the former president as a man of high ethical standards whose tireless efforts in nation-building have made him a national treasure.
