Odigie-Oyegun replies Tinubu, restates support
• As APC Says It Is Not Under Probe By EFCC
The National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, has reiterated his desire to support the national leader of the party, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to succeed in the task of reconciling aggrieved members.
In his response to Tinubu’s letter, dated February 21, Oyegun, in a rather sarcastic note, congratulated Tinubu on the peace-making role assigned to him by President Muhammadu Buhari.
He said: “It is most challenging, but I believe you will ultimately justify the confidence reposed in you by Mr. President.
“In this, you have my fullest support. Be assured, dear Asiwaju, of my highest regards now and always.”
Tinubu had, in his letter, accused Oyegun of frustrating his reconciliatory efforts in Kogi and other parts of the country.
Meanwhile, the party has faulted media reports that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) was probing into its financial dealings.
In a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, the party described such report as completely false, insisting nothing of such happened.
