Ododo orders security agencies to rescue abducted monarch

Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has directed security agencies to ensure the swift and safe rescue of the abducted Omala monarch, HRH David Wada, District Head of Bagaji Odo, who was kidnapped by gunmen on Tuesday.

In a statement issued on Wednesday in Lokoja by the Commissioner for Information and Communication, Kingsley Fanwo, the governor condemned the abduction and vowed that the perpetrators would be brought to justice.

“The Governor of the State, His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has directed security agencies to ensure the quick rescue of the victim and apprehend the abductors,” the statement read.

Fanwo added that security agencies have been tasked with increased patrols of flashpoints across the state to prevent similar incidents.

“The Government of Kogi State will continue to prioritise the safety of lives and property of residents and make the state uninhabitable for criminals,” he said.

The statement also urged residents to volunteer credible intelligence to aid security operations and assured the public of regular updates on the situation.
