Ogun govt places N50m bounty for information on finance director’s killer

The Ogun State Government has announced a N50 million reward for anyone who can provide information leading to the arrest of the killers of Taiwo Oyekanmi, the state’s former Director of Finance and Administration.

Oyekanmi, 51, was shot and killed on November 29th by unidentified gunmen while driving across the Kuto Flyover Bridge in Abeokuta.

The Secretary to the State Government, Tokunbo Talabi, released a statement on Friday, declaring the N50 million bounty and urging the public to come forward with any information that might assist in the investigation.

“Ogun State Government has announced a reward of N50 million for anyone with information that could lead to the arrest of the killers of the state’s Director of Finance and Administration, Mr. Taiwo Oyekanmi, on 30th November, 2023 in Abeokuta,” Talabi said.

Talabi added all “Information provided would be treated with utmost confidentiality.”

He also listed several phone numbers where individuals can submit their tips: 08037441955, 08033074371, 08081775020, 08034062773, and 08032136765.

Oyekanmi was reportedly attacked by armed men while returning to the Governor’s Office with two others. They had just withdrawn money from two major commercial banks in Abeokuta. The motive for the attack and the exact amount of money withdrawn remain unclear.
